Lep’s World Reaches 60 Million Downloads.

Android, iPad, iPhone, Lep's World, nerByte, News 2 Comments

nerByte, the developers of Lep’s World 1 and 2, have just announced that the games in the franchise have now been downloaded over 60 million times.Honestly, my jaw almost hit the floor when I saw that figure on screen. The downloads are for both the free and paid versions of the games, on the iOS, Android, Mac and Amazon’s Kindle Fire platforms.

Putting that figure in perspective, the original Super Mario Bros. has sold 40.2 million copies since its release. Looking at a more recent title, Call of Duty: Black Ops sold 25 million. Both of those games are cultural phenomenons. I’m well aware the difference in pricing, free being one of them, makes Lep’s World an easier purchase, but even so, it’s amazing to think that 60 million units of a game I worked on have been downloaded across the globe.

It’s humbling to think I have helped bring enjoyment to so many people. When I worked on the the art for first game, and then on the sequel with Dominik helping me out, I had no idea it would reach such stellar heights of success. We’re currently beavering away on the 3rd installment, which in my opinion is the best looking yet. Hopefully, fingers and toes crossed, our little leprechaun can add another 30 million to the tally when his next adventure hits the App Store.

To celebrate hitting such a momentous milestone, nerByte have dropped the price for Lep’s World 2 PLUS edition to free for a limited time. If you haven’t tried the game you can download it from the link below.

Lep is also coming to facebook later this year. People everywhere will have the opportunity to play the first game on the worlds favorite social network free of charge. I recently had a chance to play it, and was happy to see they have retained the tight game play while controlling Lep via a keyboard. Keep an eye out for it. I’ll also make an announcement here as soon as it is released.

It clear says “DOWNLOAD LEP’S WORLD 2 PLUS FOR FREE” IN BOLD LETTERS AND UNDERLINED. Why when i click on that link, it takes me to the iTunes store where i have to pay for it???

      Hi Debbie,

That’s because this is a news item from July 2013, not an up to date advert. This version of the game’s price has been returned to $0.99 by the developer.

There is a free (ad supported) version of the game you can download from here

      I hope this helps.
